Ethics for Authors Authors are required to follow International Standards for Authors. In short: u Authors should submit original and unpublished work. The results must be presented honestly and without falsification. u Authors should not submit previously published work without significant change. In the latter case, the published paper must be cited and the changes must be clearly indicated. u Authors must not submit a manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. u Authors named on the article should take collective responsibility on the content of the work. u Authors should represent the work of others accurately in citations and quotations. The references from other publications should not be copyied if authors have not read the cited work. u All major contributors to the content of the paper, and only those, must be listed as authors of the paper. Minor contributors must be listed in the acknowledgement section. Ethics for Peer Reviewers Peer reviewers are required to follow COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers. In short: u Peer reviewers should only agree to review manuscripts if they have the subject expertise required to carry out a proper assessment in a timely manner. u Peer reviewers should respect the confidentiality of peer review and not reveal any details of a manuscript or its review, during or after the peer-review process, beyond those that are released by the journal. u Peer reviewers should declare all potential conflict of interests and not agree to review such manuscript. u Peer reviewers should not allow their reviews to be influenced by the origins of a manuscript, by the race, nationality, religion, gender or other characteristics of the authors, or by commercial considerations. u Peer reviewers should be objective and constructive in their reviews, refraining from being hostile or inflammatory and from making libellous or derogatory personal comments. u Peer reviewers should recognize that impersonation of another individual during the review process is considered serious misconduct. Ethics for Editors Editors are required to follow COPE Code of Conduct. In short: u Editors should ensure that research material they publish conforms to internationally accepted ethical guidelines. u Editors should keep the peer review process confidential. u Editor’s decisions to accept or reject a paper for publication should be based only on the paper’s importance, originality, and clarity, and the study’s relevance to the remit of the journal. u
Editors
should not reverse decisions to accept submissions unless serious problems
are identified with the submission. u
If
editor is presented with convincing evidence that a submitted article is
under consideration or has published elsewhere, or the main substance of the
article is erroneous, then the article must be rejected. Editors should clearly inform peer
reviewers and authors what is expected from them. New Perspectives in Translation Studies Editor-in-chief: Wei
